Accommodation There are 163 hotels in Frankfurt and a total of 22,409 beds - 11 of these rate as luxury hotels and many are designed with the business traveller in mind. The largest European five-star hotel, the Sheraton, is located at Frankfurt airport and has more than 1000 beds. Throughout the city, prices can reach astronomic heights during major trade fairs and events, and rooms quickly become fully booked. It is, therefore, always advisable to book accommodation well in advance. Some visitors may prefer to stay in nearby Mainz or Wiesbaden. The Hilton opened in 1998 in a prime downtown location. The modern building has 342 rooms designed for the business traveller.
